Guatemala’s consular network in the United States currently provides passport, DPI, and Guatemalan Consular Identification Card (TICG) services with or without an appointment. New York is not one of the Atlanta or Nashville offices where a prior appointment is temporarily required.
You may therefore visit the New York office for a passport, DPI, or TICG procedure without scheduling an appointment first. If you prefer a scheduled visit, MINEX allows appointments to be requested by telephone through the official number for the consular office. Appointments are personal, free, and non-transferable.
Older instructions directing applicants in the United States to different appointment portals or to ConsulApp Guate should no longer be treated as the main scheduling method. MINEX announced in July 2025 that ConsulApp Guate had been disabled and later established telephone scheduling for people who choose appointment service.
Mobile Consulate events require an appointment in advance. Each event has its own location, date, hours, and list of available services, so check the specific announcement before traveling.
